Human being is a soul covered by five layers or sheaths called ‘koshas’. They  are  ‘Annamaya kosha (the food sheath or the physical body of blood bones and tissues), ‘Pranamaya kosha’ ( the energy sheath or the pranic body comprising, prana, chakras and nadis), Manomaya kosha (the mental sheath which is the conscious mind), Vigyanmaya kosha (the psychic sheath or the subconscious) and Anandamaya kosha( the  spiritual sheath or the unconscious mind where lie peace and bliss).

All the five bodies of man are closely interconnected. Therefore, when a fault arises in any one of them, others soon follow suit. Consequently, pranic blockages appear,  physical functions become erratic, judgments are clouded, emotions become negative, and joy goes out of the mind.

Yogas have techniques that can access each layer of the human personality and effectively remove the faults therein, re-establishing the delicate  balance among the five bodies.
